Who Is Lee Groban?
Lee Groban has been an integral part of the Chicago art community for more than three decades. This self-taught multi-media icon is a poet, visual artist, and performer. If you have ever been at an art event in Chicago, you have likely been in the presence of Lee Groban.

Outside of Chicago, Lee Groban is perhaps best known for his epic poem, A Cure for Insomnia, which is currently more than 5,000 pages in length and is still considered a work in progress. This work has been mostly hand written by Groban, with an occasional page created on a manual typewriter. (Kids: A manual typewriter is a self-contained keyboard whose power source is entirely dependent on the skills of the typist rather than the whims of a corporate entity)

This epic work is becoming quite well known, due in part to the fact that Groban is the currently listed in the Guiness Book of World Records under the categories of "World's Longest Poem" and also for the "World's Longest Movie." The latter title was earned through an ambitious cinematic project which features the author reading A Cure for Insomnia in its entirety up to that point in time.

In addition to his written creations, Lee Groban is also an accomplished visual artist. His work has been shown in numerous galleries including the Jett Sett Gallery, the ARC Gallery, RawSpace, and the Gallery at Paper Boy. Lee has been a featured artist in Pulp Magazine, the Chicago Reader, the Globe, and New City.

And finally, Lee Groban is an accomplished performer and several of his cinematic projects are listed online at the Internet Movie Data Base. His live performances have been enjoyed by audiences at Around the Coyote, Bucktown Arts Fstival and other alternative venues and he has also performed with numerous rock bands on both coasts as well as the Midwest.

Much of Lee's work is based in his extensive research findings derived from an avid interest in ancient ancestries and the cultures which surrounded them. In addition to his artistic achievements, Groban also holds a Bachelors Degree in Russian Language Studies and a Masters Degree in Library Sciences.
